The CPN-Maoist Centre has decided to oppose the United States grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). A meeting of the parliamentary parties held at the parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar on Wednesday morning decided that they could not stand for the MCC in the status quo.

Maoist Chief Whip Dev Gurung said the Maoist Center would form an opinion on MCC at the Parliamentary Party meeting and the same opinion would be forwarded at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the parliament.

“We cannot move forward without a national consensus in the MCC. At least in the government, there should be a consensus among the parties. If the government uses force, the Maoists will vote in opposition and the alliance will be broken,” he said.
