Russia is ready to negotiate with the US, with hopes of resolving the Ukraine crisis through talks alive

Russia has said it is ready to resolve the Ukraine crisis through diplomatic talks with the West.

In a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Ukraine was ready to resolve the crisis through diplomatic talks with the West. “There is always the possibility of an agreement with the West on Ukraine,” he said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was ready to hold further talks with the West over Ukraine and that it was ending some military exercises.

“President Putin has always demanded dialogue and diplomacy,” Peskov said. He said Ukraine was only part of the problem of Russia’s security and that Putin was ready to negotiate.

Meanwhile, both the United States and the United Kingdom have said they are committed to resolving the Ukraine crisis through diplomacy. US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have said there is still room for agreement with Russia on Ukraine. But the two leaders also expressed fears that such an agreement would not last long, according to the BBC.

Biden and Johnson said the ongoing crisis would be prolonged if Russia intervened further in Ukraine. A statement from Downing Street said, “If both leaders intervene in Ukraine, the crisis will be prolonged for Russia and it will hurt Russia and the world at large.”
