According to preliminary data, the number of voters has reached 18.5 million. This is 4.5 million more than in the last local elections.

Commission Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel will now prepare the final voter list by
updating the voter list of persons who have reached the age of 18 by the day the election date is announced.

Spokesperson Poudel said that all the district election offices have been asked to send the
updated voter data to the central office within this year. Spokesperson Poudel informed that
the number of voters will be maintained after receiving the number of voters from all the
districts.

In the 2074 BS House of Representatives and State Assembly elections, the number of voters was 15.4 million. Elections to the states and the House of Representatives were held in two phases on Mangsir 10 (November 26) and Mangsir 21 (December 7).

The Election Commission had compiled the voters’ list even after the then Oli-led government dissolved the House of Representatives and fixed the date of the election. According to the statistics of that time, there were 15.48 million voters. The Election Commission has been working on updating the voter list since then.
