The consumer price of milk increased by Rs. 9 per liter

Kathmandu, February 10

The government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has decided to increase the
consumer price of processed standard milk by Rs. 9 per liter. With the price hike, the price of a liter of milk now available in packages has reached Rs 85.

The board meeting of the corporation on Wednesday decided to fix the new consumer price, said a board source. The increased price will be effective from Friday.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development had given permission to the corporation to increase the price of milk. The ministry had agreed to fix the price of processed milk on the basis of three units of fat and eight units of SNF.

Earlier, the cabinet meeting had decided to increase the price of raw milk by Rs. 6 rupees 52 paisa.
