Kathmandu, February 9
Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Uddhav Poudel has also left the party. He announced his
separation from the party by posting a status on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
He said that he had tried hard to unite the RPP but failed. ”My efforts to unite the RPP have failed. As a failed student, I am very sad and emotional. The moment of staying in RPP will always be unforgettable. I have ended my involvement with RPP from today,” Poudel wrote.
Poudel, who is known to be close to Kamal Thapa in RPP, is also a former treasurer. But he did not run for office at the convention last December.
Poudel also left the party the day after the outgoing chairman Thapa left the party. But he told news channels that he did not leave the party to support Kamal Thapa. ”I have not made any point, I have not even met him (Kamal Thapa),” he said.
Poudel said that he left the party as he could not resolve the party’s dispute.
