Armed Police have recovered a large number of peas being smuggled from Nepal to India from Muradpur of Kapilvastu.
A police team deployed from Madpur police post has recovered five tons of white peas
worth Rs 500,000 from Nepal to Itwa, India. Police have also seized a truck (UP 55 T 2295) with an Indian number plate carrying peas.
Police have arrested the truck driver Dhan Prakash Agrahari, 27, of Itwa in Siddharthnagar
village of Bharat and started an investigation, said Kapilvastu Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmaraj Bhandari.
Spokesperson Bhandari informed that the recovered truck would be sent to Suthauli.
