Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) vice-chairman Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan has claimed that former party chairman Kamal Thapa is not in favor of splitting the party. While participating in a tea party organized by former president Thapa in Kathmandu on Monday, Vice President Pradhan said that he is in favor of party unity. He also said that they are committed to unite the party by carrying the responsibility given by the General Convention.
He also expressed his commitment to unite the party. Vice President Pradhan said, “I do not think he has any intention of splitting the party. As elected by the General Convention, my responsibility is to unite the party. That responsibility also belongs to the elected chairperson. We are in favor of party unity. I express my commitment to take it together.”
Party general secretary Kunti Shahi also said that former president Thapa is not in favor of splitting the party. She said that the party leadership should include all the leaders and cadres who have contributed for the party in the past. General Secretary Shahi pointed out the need for all the leaders to move forward unitedly to make the party strong.
