Newly appointed minister of Karnali takes oath

Karnali, February 7

The newly appointed ministers of Karnali have taken oath of office and secrecy. Chief Minister Tilak Pariyar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers at 7 pm on Sunday. Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi today appointed two ministers from the Nepali Congress, two from the CPN-Maoist Center and one from the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Three months after becoming the chief minister, Shahi has completed the cabinet. Adding five ministers, the eight-member cabinet of Karnali has been completed. Earlier, Chief Minister Shahi had appointed CPN-Unified Socialist Karnali Province Assembly Member Chandra Bahadur Shahi as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives and Maoist MP Bindaman Bista as Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning.

Today, Him Bahadur Shahi has become the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Yagya Budhakshetri has become the Minister of Social Development from the Nepali Congress. Budhakshetri was earlier the Minister of Social Development in the Mahendra Bahadur Shahi-led government.

Similarly, Jajarkot MP Ganesh Prasad Singh has become the Minister for Water Resources and Energy Development from the Maoist Center. The Maoists have also appointed a non-MP as a minister. Humla’s Chhiring Dumdul Lama (Karchen) has become the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment from the Maoist party. From Samajwadi Party, Jumla MP Padma Bahadur Rokaya has become the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development.
