Crisis declared in Canadian capital

Kathmandu, February 7

A state of emergency has been declared in the Canadian capital, Ottawa, following a protest by truck drivers against the mandatory vaccination against corona.

The mayor of Ottawa said the state of emergency was imposed to restore the city to its former glory.

According to international media reports, the capital city of Canada has come to a standstill
after other people joined the movement started by the truck drivers.

Protesters have blocked the road by placing trucks and tents on the road. Complaints have also been lodged alleging violence and abuse during the agitation.

On January 15, the Canadian government decided to vaccinate non-vaccinated Canadian truck drivers across the US-Canada border.

The truck drivers had started protesting against the order. Now the same demonstration is
becoming widespread. They have dubbed the demonstration ‘Pidam Convoi’.

Demonstrations in the capital, Ottawa, as well as in Toronto, Quebec, Fredericton and
Winnipeg, have been held to protest covid vaccination.
