Snowfall last Thursday and Friday has disrupted air services here. There is heavy snow at the airport here. Simkot Airport has stated that the snow has started to clear from Saturday as soon as the weather improves. The only airport in the district has been closed for four days after two and a half feet of snow fell.
Civil Aviation Authority Simkot branch office manager Mohan Giri informed that the flight from Nepalgunj and Surkhet could not be operated for four days due to the snowfall. It is said that there will be up to 15 flights daily at the airport.
