Hosts Cayman Rouen finished third in the Africa Cup of Nations, beating Burkina Faso in a
penalty shootout.
Cameroon beat Burkina Faso 5-3 in a shootout on Saturday night to make a great comeback after falling behind by three goals.
Cameroon made a great comeback after captain Vincent Abubakar entered the field in the
second half and scored two goals in the last five minutes. Abu Karak scored in the 85th and
87th minutes. Earlier, Stefan Baoken scored in the 71st minute to put Cameron back in the
game.
Burkina Faso could not maintain a three-goal lead. Steve Yago scored in the 24th minute to give them the lead. Burkina Faso doubled the lead in the 43rd minute when Cameroon goalkeeper Andrel Onana scored an own goal. Debili Outara scored in the 49th minute to give Burkina Faso a 3-0 lead but could not maintain it.
After the scheduled 90-minute match ended in a 3-3 draw, no extra time was added and the game went straight to a penalty shootout. For Cameroon, goals were scored by Vincent
Abubakar, Nicolas Maumi Engamaleu, Carl Toko Acampi, Pierre Kunde and Ambrois Oyongo.
Isa Cabore, Soumila Outara and Steve Yogo scored for Burkina Faso. Ibrahim Balti Torre failed to score.
Egypt and Senegal will compete for the Africa Cup of Nations title on Sunday.
