The government has demanded details from passengers who have paid higher fares on chartered flights

Kathmandu, January 25

The government has demanded details from passengers who paid more than the stipulated
fare on a chartered flight last year to rescue Nepalis stranded abroad due to the Corona
epidemic.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has appealed to the public to pay their fare and send an email to info@tourism.gov.np. The ministry said, ”The dignitaries who were forced to pay higher fares on international passenger-chartered flights are requested to assist in the investigation by emailing the application within seven days along with the official documents.”

The government has formed an investigation committee to further investigate the irregularities in the chartered flight. The committee was formed by the ministry to seek clarification from the concerned body and further investigate the delay in the implementation of the recommendations of the committee formed earlier.

Details have been requested for the purpose of investigation of the same committee. In the
first phase of the transition of Covid 19, after the declaration of embargo inside Nepal,
international chartered flights were operated to return the stranded people abroad.
