Kathmandu, January 21
Due to the third wave of Corona epidemic, all the museums in the valley will be closed from
Saturday as per the instructions of the district administration office. In a statement issued on Friday, various museums, including the National Museum, said that the museum was closed indefinitely.
An order issued by all three chief district officers of the valley on Thursday called for the
museum to be closed, saying it was too crowded.
Chief of Patan Durbar Museum Suresh Lakhe said that the service of the museum has been
affected for the past few days due to corona infection in the staff working at the museum. He said the museum had been closed since Saturday until further notice following an
administration order on Thursday.
In the Kathmandu Valley, there are four museums including the Nepal Army in the cantonment from the government body, three in the Mallakalin Durbar area, Swayambhu, Narayanhiti and other museums.
