Kathmandu, January 20
The Metropolitan Crime Investigation Branch has caught a gambling gang living in Nepal and in the United States.
Chief of the Division, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, told news channels that 12 people were
arrested from Nepal on the charge of gambling in the United States using a mobile application.
According to him, the arrested persons are Sujendra Thapa, Pradeep Man Singh Basnet, Buddha Maharjan, Manish Thapa, Samir Thapa, Kavita Thapa, Rabin Khadka, Roja Maharjan, Shahil Maharjan, Hanisha Maharjan, Binod Thagunna and Ramadevi Shrestha.
”They’re running a mobile app that requires them to gamble for at least 10 dollar or more,” said Kunwar.
Kunwar says that he gets commission for gambling. Kunwar says that other than the three main people, they were used as workers while others were found sharing the link to gamble as workers.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
