We charge only Rs 1,500 for 3 months corona test: Afin

Kathmandu, January 20

The Association of Private Health Institutions of Nepal (AFIN) has directed all private hospitals to maintain the corona test fee at Rs 1,500.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Population requested 800 government and 1,500
private individuals. Hemraj Dahal, the secretary general of AFIN, said that he had instructed a private hospital to reduce the fees in terms of social responsibility in the Corona epidemic.

”Commercially, we don’t make much profit on PCR fees. We have fulfilled our social responsibility in the midst of time, ”Dahal told to news channels.

This fee is only maintained for three months. Similarly, Corona complained that the amount
provided by the government for the treatment of the infected was insufficient.

At present, when the government treats patients with complex conditions every day, the
private hospital pays Rs. 15,000 for general condition and Rs.3500 for medium condition and Rs 7000 for enquiry condition.

The government will pay the hospital for the treatment of the infected by the government
hospital and the hospital that has entered into an agreement with the government.

Free treatment for corona is also available at government hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health and contracted hospitals.

The Ministry of Health has stated that Covid-19 care units are operating in 78 hospitals under it.

”The government’s daily fee for the treatment of infected patients is not enough for large
private hospitals,” he said.

”Hospitals with international services cannot afford that much,” he said. Dahal said, ”The
government should think about this issue in time.”
