Congress Convention: Ward polling stopped after polling officer fell ill

Dispute has resurfaced in Manarasiswa Ward No. 8, which was postponed due to dispute of
Nepali Congress Mahottari. Voting was unanimously scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the ward party office.

However, the convention is again in a dilemma after Election Officer Durga Pariyar issued a
notice stating that the election cannot be held. Although the date and place of polling have
been fixed time and time again, the convention of the ward has been disrupted due to the
election official.

“Even now, the election officials have adopted the old attitude. There is a serious secret hidden in it,” said Shambhu Pathak, secretary of the Nepali Congress in Mahottari.

Although the polling was called at 10 am at the party office with the facilitation of the District Police Office, the polling officer Pariyar had posted a notice at 9 am stating that he was ill. Even if he is ill, the district election officer has to appoint another polling officer. But even District Election Officer Indra Adhikari is not in touch.
