The Birgunj Customs Office has collected more than one trillion rupees in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Birgunj Customs, one of the main ports of the country in terms of import and export business, has collected 6 percent more revenue than the target.
The customs department had set a revenue collection target of Rs 1 kharb 22 crore 15 lakh 37 thousand for the period from Shrawan to Poush. Harihar Poudel, chief customs officer of the Birgunj customs office, said that the office had collected a total of Rs 1 khrab 5 arba 90 crore 83 lakhs 35 thousand in the same period. ”We have collected Rs 32 billion more revenue than the review period of the previous fiscal year 2077/78,” said Chief Customs Officer Poudel. ‘
The Birgunj Customs had contributed Rs. 73 arba 55 crore. According to Chief Customs Officer Poudel, the target of 17 arba 60 crore 90 lakh 8 thousand revenue collection was achieved in the month of poush. The office has collected 97.7 percent of the target or Rs. 17 arba 20 crore 91 lakh 34 thousand.
How much revenue in which title?
The Birgunj customs office has collected revenue from the highest value added tax. Aiming to raise Rs 31 arba 12 crore 15 lakh 71 thousand, the customs has collected Rs 41 arba 3 crore 45 lakhs, which is 32 percent more than the target.
While customs duty of Rs. 38 arba 57 crore 73 lakh 14 has been collected from the goods
entering through the Birgunj customs office in the last six months, very little revenue has been collected from the exported goods. The customs duty on exported goods is only Rs. 1 crore 32 lakh 19. Which is only 19 percent of the target. The office had set a target of collecting 91 lakh 76 thousand excise duty on exports by mid-January.
The excise duty collected was Rs 12 arba 26 crore 81 lakh 64 thousand and Rs 7 arba 97 crore 32 thousand was collected from the import tax of petroleum products alone, according to the customs. Advance income tax of Rs. 14 crore 68 lakh 90 thousand, health risk tax of Rs. 73 crore 63 lakh 76 thousand, agricultural reform fee of Rs. 2 arba 39 lakh 95 thousdand, road maintenance and improvement fee of Rs. 2.39 billion have been collected.
The customs office, which earned Rs. 5 crore 57 lakh 18 thousand on other revenue-related
headings, has collected Rs. 3 Arba 9 Crore 5 Lakh 61 thousand.
