Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday held telephone talks with Russian President
Vladimir Putin. On the occasion, they discussed how to move forward on trade and other issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
Prime Minister Khan wrote in a tweet on Monday, “Just talked to President Putin. He (Putin) is the first Western leader to show sympathy and sensitivity to the Muslim sentiments towards his beloved prophet.”
Discussions between the two leaders focused on trade and cooperation between the two
countries. “We also discussed ways to move forward on trade and other issues of mutual
interest between our two countries, and we also exchanged invitations to visit each other’s
countries,” Khan said.
During a telephone conversation on Monday, Prime Minister Khan and President Putin recalled their talks last year and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest, according to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office.
