Seventeen central members of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) have boycotted the Central Committee meeting questioning the ethics of Chairman Bipul Pokhrel.

After the central members left the meeting room, the central committee meeting of the
federation could not be formally started. A meeting of officials is currently being held in an
effort to reach a consensus.

Secretary General Roshan Puri requested Pokhrel to preside over the meeting. The central
members questioned the signature of FNJ President Pokhrel on the recommendation letter of Media Award and Press Council Chairman Bal Krishna Basnet and said that the meeting could not start until these issues were addressed.

He also questioned the presence of FNCCI Vice President Bala Adhikari.

After that, central members Ram Krishna Adhikari, Babin Sharma, Madhav Poudel, Shantaram Bidari and others left the meeting room.

Those inside also said that the meeting could not be held without the participation of the
outgoing central members and urged the officials to reach an agreement first. After that, the meeting of the office bearers is going on now.
