National Basketball League announcement, each team will have two foreign players

Kathmandu, January 13

The ‘National Basketball League’ has been announced in partnership with Turnpike Event Pvt. Ltd. and Nepal Basketball Association.

The organizers informed that the basketball franchise league is going to be held in Nepal for the first time. Eight clubs will participate in the National Basketball League. 8 clubs will be licensed by Turnpike Event.

Clubs playing in the league represent the cities of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kirtipur, Pokhara,
Bhaktapur, Dharan, Biratnagar, Chitwan and Butwal / Dhangadhi.

Each club will have 10 players of Nepali origin and 2 international players. There will be 1 head coach, 1 assistant coach, 1 physio and 1 club manager. The league games will be played at the multi-purpose curb hall at Dasharath Stadium.

The eight franchise clubs of the National Basketball League under the Turnpike event will be
announced, Turnpike said. Turnpike will pay 40 percent of the license fee with the clubs of this league to the Nepal Basketball Association.

The Nepal Basketball Association will name the National Basketball League as its top-class
league. The Nepal Basketball Association has taken charge of the technical side of the National Basketball League.

The Nepal Basketball Association will register professional players and coaches in the midst of this league. Players will be divided into two levels and registered. Class A and class B will be divided.

According to the association, a new national basketball team will also be selected after
evaluating the games of the players of the National Basketball League. This league has been recognized by the Nepal Basketball Association as the highest-level league in the basketball world of Nepal.
