CPN-UML has said that the Lipulek and Limpiyadhura areas are an integral part of Nepal and the Indian government is constructing various structures there.
In a statement, Dr. Rajan Bhattarai of the UML’s Department of Foreign Affairs reminded that the government of Nepal had launched a diplomatic initiative last year to bring back the territory after Nepal had clarified its legal and political position on the issue through political-administrative map and amendment of the constitution.

“Contrary to the agreement reached in the meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission to
resolve the outstanding issues between the two countries through diplomatic channels, the
CPN (UML) has drawn serious attention to the Indian side’s intensification of construction of
roads and other structures in the Nepali territory.”
The statement said, “Such activities that threaten Nepal’s sovereignty, geographical integrity and self-respect must be stopped immediately. Construction of structures including roads should be stopped. This issue should be resolved immediately through negotiations and no structure should be formed at the state level until a solution is found through negotiations.”
