Prachanda has no possibility of party unity: Baidya

CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) General Secretary Mohan Baidya has said that there is no possibility of unity with the former Maoist elements including the CPN-Maoist Center.

At a press conference held by the Federation of Revolutionary Journalists in Kathmandu on Tuesday, General Secretary Baidya said that there was no possibility of unity among the former Maoist elements including the Maoist center. Baidya said that there was no possibility of unity even though the chairman of the Maoist center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was constantly saying that there would be unity.

He said that there was no possibility of unity as they could not accept the current state power and parliamentary system and the Maoists were moving forward as the guardians of the parliamentary system. He said, “They have repeatedly said that there can be party unity, there can be party unity with the former Maoists. But not possible with our party. We can’t accept the old state power, the parliamentary system.”

He said that there was no possibility of unity with the CPN-Masal led by Mohan Bikram Singh and the CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav. He also said that the political line was not aligned with those parties. Baidya said that the MCC project should be scrapped as it was treasonous.
