With the outbreak of COVID 19, the government has started preparations to close physical
classes in basic and secondary level schools till Magh 15. According to public health experts, only on Sunday, COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordinating Center will give leave in basic and secondary level schools till Magh 15. It was recommended to the government to operate only by following the criteria.
A meeting of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is being held on Monday to
take further decision as per the 13-point decision of the CCMCC meeting held on the third day of briefing Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba about Covid.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Deepak Sharma, said that the decision to close the school or issue some more information would be taken after a detailed discussion today.
CCMCC spokesperson Sunita Nepal said that it was recommended to give school leave on the basis of the recommendation of the Ministry of Health saying that the risk of covid among children has increased. “Many schools now have winter break, so it is recommended to extend it,” she said.
The CCMCC is supposed to make recommendations through the Ministry of Education to the
state and local levels through federal affairs and general administration.
