Kathmandu, January 10
The number of daily corona infections in neighboring India has reached close to 180,000.
According to the Union Ministry of Health of India, 1,79,723 new infections of Kovid-19 were added on Monday. In the last 24 hours, 146 infected people have died, according to the ministry.
Today, with the addition of infected people, the number of active infected people in India has reached 723,619. The daily infection rate (positivity rate) is 13.29 percent, according to Indian media.
Infections of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 are also on the rise in India. So far, 4,033 people have been infected with this variant. Maharashtra has the highest number of Omicron infections.
According to the Union Ministry, the number of people infected with Omicron in Maharashtra has reached 1,216 by Monday. In Rajasthan, which is in the second position, the number of infected with Omicron has reached 529. So far, 513 people in Delhi and 441 in Karnataka have been infected with the variant.
