The state government has increased the taxi fare in the valley, now a minimum of Rs 60

Kathmandu, January 9

Taxi fare has increased in Kathmandu Valley and Bagmati Pradesh. The Ministry of Labor,
Employment and Transport has increased the taxi fare by a decision of the ministerial level.

As per the decision, the minimum fare of a taxi in Kathmandu Valley has been fixed at Rs 60. It is mentioned in the revised fare that the first one-kilometer journey of taxi service will start with a flag down of Rs. 60. After that, the fare will be increased at the rate of Rs 9.80 per 200- meter journey.

According to the decision, taxis will now have to fully use the meter. Similarly, as soon as you use a taxi, the service recipient will have to give the details including the number of the vehicle, driver’s number and the visiting card in English and Nepali.
