The Rastriya Janamorcha has protested against India’s continued road widening in Lipulek area. Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC issued a statement on Sunday demanding the government to immediately hold talks with India on the issue and stop the construction work. KC said that serious attention has been drawn to this statement of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had said at a public function in Haldwani in the
Indian state of Uttarakhand that road widening work was underway in the Lipulek area to reach Mansarovar.
Last year, it was made public that India had encroached on Nepali land and built a road in
Lipulek, which falls under the Kalapani region of Nepal. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the road through virtual media.
