Ministers are also at risk from Corona

Central government ministers are also at risk as coronavirus infection has been confirmed to top leaders of the ruling coalition partner CPN-Maoist. UCPN (M) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Matrika Yadav, Haribol Gajurel, Ram Prasad Sapkota, Subodh Sherpali, ANNISU (Revolutionary) chairperson Pancha Singh, YCL chairperson Suman Devkota and Mahendra Bahadur Shahi have been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus.

Journalists participating in the convention have also contracted corona. Apart from the Chief Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Office Shri Ram Dhakal and Shiva Khakurel, Secretary Dor Prasad Upadhyay and Avindra Parajuli have also been infected with coronavirus.

The Maoists are affiliated with the central government. Pampha Bhusal, Janardan, Devendra Poudel, Shashi Shrestha and Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj, who participated in the general convention, are in the cabinet from the Maoists. As a result, government ministers are also at risk of corona infection.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who met Prachanda, is already sitting in isolation.
Concerns have been raised over the past month that political party conventions and activities have increased the risk of corona infection. Political activities were carried out by involving leaders and activists from all over the country without following the standards of public health.
