As the risk of corona infection increases, preparations are underway to move ahead with health vigilance and precautionary measures in the Kathmandu Valley.
Preparations are underway to tighten health standards, speed up vaccination programs and
keep health infrastructure in a state of readiness. Chief District Officers of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have convened an all-party meeting today to prepare for the work to be done in the district in their own way. After separate discussions, necessary decision will be taken in a joint meeting of all the three Chief District Officers.
Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Rudra Devi Sharma said that a joint meeting could be held today or tomorrow. Before holding the joint meeting, she said that she was going to hold consultations with the leaders of the political parties of the district, people’s representatives, security officials, civil society, journalists and representatives of non-governmental organizations. A meeting has been convened at the District Administration Office, Bhaktapur at 2 pm today.
”We are discussing issues in the district today, including tightening of health standards, keeping health infrastructure in readiness, and will hold a joint meeting today or tomorrow as soon as possible,” Sharma told to News cnels.
The CCMC meeting was held two days ago as the infection of Corona was increasing. However, the decisions of the meeting have not been made public. After the meeting, the Ministry of Health and CCMC have not yet issued any new decision or directive. However, the district administration offices have made preparations to work in their own way within the district.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Ghanshyam Upadhyaya also informed that a meeting has been convened at 2:30 pm today targeting the corona infection and vaccination program.
Stating that the graph of corona infection is increasing, he said that it was felt that the
movement of people should be reduced.
Informing those informal discussions are going on with the Ministry of Health in this regard,
Prajia Upadhyaya said,’
”Public mobility needs to be reduced, health standards need to be met and vaccination needs to be promoted more effectively,” he said.
Kathmandu Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal said that the date and time of the joint meeting of the people of the valley has not been fixed yet.
According to him, no separate meeting has been convened in the district administration office like in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. However, in informal discussions, work has been done to ensure compliance with health standards and other preparations, said Prajia Rijal.
