Kathmandu, January 9
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is sitting in isolation after falling into contact tracing.
After the infection was confirmed in CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Prachanda, Leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha and other leaders, Deuba has been in contact tracing. Therefore, Prime Minister Deuba has been in isolation since Saturday, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
A member of the secretariat told that ”the prime minister has become isolated by closing the meeting.”
However, he did not show any symptoms similar to those of Covid. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. The member said, ”It is not yet decided whether to test the PCR or wait a day or two. The consultation is going on.”
On Friday, Prime Minister Deuba attended a meeting of the High-Level Coordination Committee with the top leaders of the ruling coalition parties. The next day, Saturday, the Maoist center chairman Prachanda, leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha and others were confirmed.
After meeting UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli on Saturday and receiving information that
Prachanda had contracted the disease, Deuba stayed in isolation.
