UML is holding district convention today

Kathmandu, January 7

The main opposition party CPN-UML is holding a district convention today. The convention will be held today except for the Himalayan district and 16 districts which are in internal dispute.

CPN-UML has stated that the postponed district convention will be held later.

Chairman KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the district convention simultaneously from the action room of the party’s central office at 11 am today, said Bishnu Rijal, deputy chief of the CPN-UML’s propaganda department.

The inauguration ceremony of the Kathmandu District Convention has been organized at the Cricket Stadium in Mulpani. UML has claimed to land one lakh people there.

UML has mobilized the concerned committee for the district convention. Leaders who have
reached the central leadership from those districts and designated district in-charges have been posted in the districts for the past few days.

Earlier, the CPN-UML had also held the Palika convention simultaneously. UML has stated that it will start preparations for the state convention as soon as the district convention is over. The state convention is scheduled for Magh 8.
