The investigation report of Lalita Niwas land case has reached the government prosecutor’s
office. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday submitted a study report on the Lalita Niwas land case in Baluwatar to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, Kathmandu.

The bureau has prepared an investigation report against more than 300 people on the charge of being involved in the sale of government land of Lalita’s residence. Ganga Prasad Poudel, co-counsel of the District Government Attorney’s Office, Kathmandu, said that the report has reached the office. He said that the government prosecutor’s office would appoint a public prosecutor to study the report and take forward the necessary process.

He said, “The missiles are being handed over by the police just now. We deport people for
registration and study. We will appoint a public prosecutor. Then the government lawyer study. If the investigation is completed after the study, then the issue is decided whether to proceed or not. If the decision is made, the indictment will be ready and he will go to court.”

He said that no matter how many people have been named as defendants by the police, the number of defendants may decrease after the government prosecutor’s office conducts a study.
