The ruling coalition’s high-level coordination committee meeting made two decisions

A high-level political coordination committee led by Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has discussed two issues. A meeting of the committee held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Thursday discussed the National Assembly elections and the Prime Minister’s visit to India, said Communications Minister Gyanendra Karki.

According to Karki, the meeting has appealed to the coalition to win the common candidate in the National Assembly. He said that a decision has been taken to form a mechanism in all the states to win the alliance candidates in the upcoming 19-seat National Assembly election on magh 22.

In the National Assembly, there is coordination between the coalition parties Congress, Maoist Center, Unified Socialists, Janata Socialists and Rastriya Janamorcha. The Congress has fielded candidates in 6 seats, the JSP in 2 seats, the Janamorcha in 1 seat, the Maoists and the Unified Socialists in 5 seats. Karki said that the meeting concluded by formulating a strategy to win all the candidates.

According to Minister Karki, the meeting wished Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba a three- day visit to India. Karki said that he believed that the meeting would improve and strengthen the relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Deuba is leaving for India on Poush 25 to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

Deuba is also scheduled to address the summit, which will be inaugurated by Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on Poush 26. During the visit, Deuba is scheduled to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Modi.

Issues like import of chemical fertilizers, energy trade, air routes and border disputes are on the agenda of Deuba’s visit. Deuba is scheduled to return to Kathmandu via Delhi on Poush 28 after completing his three-day visit.
