The road connecting Rasuwagadhi, an international trade gateway with China, has been
blocked. The road connecting boarder was blocked due to a landslide near Kulung Bridge on the Syaphru Besi-Rasuwagadhi road section on Tuesday.
Rasuwa Chief District Officer Nawaraj Jaisi said that the road was completely blocked after a dry landslide with large boulders came from about 100 meters above the road.
He said that an excavator has started work to make the road smooth but due to the landslide, efforts are being made to make the road smooth by this evening.
When the road was blocked by the landslide, the power supply to the Timure area was also
disrupted.
Small and big vehicles plying at Rasuwagadhi checkpoint have been stopped due to road
blockage. According to the District Police Office, Rasuwa, about 20 cargo vehicles heading to Timure were stopped in the middle.
There is a risk of traffic congestion on the road from Syaphru to Rasuwagadhi. Roads are
occasionally blocked during the rainy season, while rocks fall and dry landslides occur in winter.
The road from Syaphru Beshi to Rasuwagadhi has been constructed by the Chinese side but has not started yet.
