Bangladesh made history by defeating New Zealand at home ground

Kathmandu, January 5

Bangladesh made history by winning the first Test against New Zealand by eight wickets.
Bangladesh had not yet won a cricket match against New Zealand.

Bangladesh achieved the usual target of 40 runs set by New Zealand by losing 2 wickets in 17 overs.
Bangladesh scored 458 in the first innings while New Zealand trailed by 130 runs. Even in the second innings, New Zealand managed to score only 169 runs. Will Young scored 69 runs for his team.

The hero of this historic victory was Ibadat Hussain of Bangladesh. He took 6 wickets for 56
runs. This is the first time since 2017 that New Zealand has lost at home. In 2017, South Africa lost to New Zealand in Wellington.

So far, Bangladesh has played 61 Test matches outside the country. This is his sixth victory.
Earlier, Bangladesh had played 15 Test matches against New Zealand. Out of them, 12 games were lost and three were drawn.

Bangladesh is currently on a tour of New Zealand to play two Tests. The second and final game of the Test series will be played in Christchurch on Saturday.
