SP Pandey suspended for threatening Congress leader

Kathmandu, January 5

SP Hira Bahadur Pandey, who was accused of threatening Nepali Congress Siraha district
president Ram Chandra Yadav, has been suspended.

Pandey was suspended on Tuesday, Nepal Police spokesperson SSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said.

Earlier, Pandey was dragged from the District Police Office, Siraha to the Police Headquarters, Naxal. Pandey has been replaced by Superintendent of Police (SP) Arjun Timilsina. SP Pandey was transferred to Siraha on 8 Asar 2078.

According to sources, President Yadav had pressured the police to release the two accused in one case. But Pandey, who was transferred less than a year after he did not cooperate, has been telling those close to him. Pandey has been accused of going to Yadav’s house with a weapon and threatening him. No. 2 in this regard. The state police office was investigating.
