The commitment of the major powers to make the world free of nuclear weapons

Kathmandu, January 4

The world’s five largest nuclear powers have pledged to work together to make the world nuclear-weapon-free.

The United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom and France, two members of the Security Council, have stated opposition to using force or imposing sanctions on Iran. Amid rising tensions between the East and West, the two countries have issued a rare joint statement.

”Nuclear war cannot be won and such a war must not be fought,” the five countries said in a statement.

At a time when tensions between world powers are rising, the world’s largest nuclear power has taken the joint statement seriously.
