The Sajha party has demanded the government to celebrate Prithvi Narayan Shah’s birth anniversary as Nepal Day.
Mentioning that there is a practice of celebrating National Day on days of special importance abroad, Sajha demanded to declare Nepal Day as the Prithvi Jayanti Day in Nepal as well. ”Nepal should be declared a public holiday on the day of National Unity Day,” said spokesperson Sharad Raj Pathak.
It has also demanded to have a picture of Prithvi Narayan Shah in Nepali currency.
On the occasion of the Prithvi Jubilee, Sajha has even announced a ‘Mechi-Mahakali National Unity Journey’ from Poush 27.
