Kathmandu, January 3.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the District Administration Offices to take legal action against the medical colleges demanding higher fees than the ones prescribed by the Medical Education Commission.
The ministry issued the directive after students protested that some medical colleges were
charging more than the commission had stipulated.
Following the direction of the ministry, the district administration offices have started the
process of action. Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashi Raj Dahal, said that if the college
receives a written complaint demanding additional fees, it will file a case under fraud.
The office has also written to Nobel Medical College and Birat Medical College in Morang not to charge extra fees.
