Monaco coach Nico Kovac fired

French League 1 club Monaco have fired head coach Nico Kovac. Monaco said in a statement on Saturday that it had removed Kovac from the post.

‘AS Monaco has decided to end its relationship with Nico Kovac. The Croatian coach was briefed at the preliminary meeting on Thursday, according to a statement issued by Monaco.

Monaco fired Kovac after 18 months. Kovac, who is also the coach of German club Bayern Munich, became the coach of Monaco in July 2020.

After failing to perform well in the league this season, Monaco have sacked Kovac.
Monaco is sixth in the league with 29 points this season.

Monaco will appoint a new head coach soon after Kovac’s dismissal, and reserve coach Stefan Nado will oversee the team for the time being.
