Case against three including ward chairman on corruption charges

Kathmandu, December 31

A case has been filed in a special court in Kathmandu against three persons including the ward chairman of Ishwarpur Municipality-11 of Sarlahi on the charge of taking bribe.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a case against ward chairman Ram Dular Sah, ward members Sonelal Sah Rauniyar and Umesh Rai.

It is mentioned in the charge sheet of the authority that a case has been filed against them after it was found that a bribe of Rs. One lakh fifty thousand has been taken.

Case also against the then chairman of the community forest

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a case in a special court against Rajendra Thebe, then chairman of Junatara Community Forest Users Group in Main Municipality-9 of Ilam, on charges of embezzlement.

During the investigation, it was found that Thebe had extorted money from the contractor and the mill by giving the forest group’s timber without informing the other officials of the forest group. It is also mentioned in the chargesheet that Thebe had embezzled the money by signing the letter of the treasurer.
