The government has not been able to appoint a chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board. Earlier, the application was demanded by opening the advertisement, but the application has been called again by issuing public notice.
The then chairman of the board Bhishma Raj Dhungana was suspended, and the process of new appointment was started two months ago but it has reached zero again.
According to the advertisement of 28 October, the selection and recommendation committee could not recommend the names of three candidates even though 12 candidates had filed nominations for the post. A new ad is opened again.
The selection committee has issued another notice on Thursday asking for applications within 29 days. Those who have applied before are also asked to re-apply or withdraw the application within the time limit.
Earlier, Niraj Giri, executive director of the board and Nawaraj Adhikari, deputy executive director, Jeevan Amagai, former employee of the board, Chiranjeevi Chapagain, outgoing chairman of the Insurance Committee, Sitaram Thapaliya, former chief executive officer of Nepal Stock Exchange, Krishna Acharya, former chief of Employees Provident Fund, Gopal Bhatt, former executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank and capital market expert. , Financial Expert Ramesh Hamal, Deputy Director of Urban Development Fund Anil Poudel, Ambika Sharma, Keshav Shrestha and Hemant Basyal had applied.
There is a provision that the selection committee should recommend the names of three persons for the election of the chairman of the securities board. There is an arrangement for the finance minister to take a proposal to the cabinet and appoint one of the three.
