Snow has fallen at various places in the northern region of Makwanpur, a major tourist
destination, since this morning. It has been snowing in Daman, Simbhanjyang and Aghor of
Thaha municipality of the district since morning.
It has been snowing every year in Simbhanjyang at an altitude of 2,488 meters in Thaha
Municipality since Wednesday morning. The Hetauda-Kathmandu transport service has been disrupted since this morning due to the snowfall in the area, said Police Inspector Shri Ram Timalsina of the Area Police Office, Palung.
According to him, due to the snowfall in the area, the movement of vehicles from Kathmandu to Hetauda and from Hetauda to Kathmandu has been suspended due to the risk of accidents. He said that if the weather improves, preparations are being made to clear the snow by this afternoon.
