Student’s tongue gets stuck to iron railings after a curious licking

A college student from East China’s Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, has become another victim after failing to control his curiosity. Surnamed Zhang, the student tried to lick an iron railing with his tongue, which got stuck to the railings in northeast China, where the outdoor temperature was reportedly -30 C.

In a video clip that has gone viral online, Zhang’s mouth was open and the tip of the tongue was stuck firmly to a roadside fence in Changchun, the capital city of Northeast China’s Jilin Province.

Zhang said that he heard from classmates that licking iron railings in winter would cause the tip of his tongue to stick to the metal. He did not believe it and tried it.

We understand the curiosity of southerners towards the cold winter of northeast China, but we have never experienced this before, so we searched online for a solution, a classmate of Zhang told media.

He said several students breathed on his stuck tongue, and finally solved the problem.

Netizens said almost every winter, there are several stupid acts of uncontrollable curiosity like Zhang’s story.
