Criticism of Elon Musk after the incident at the Chinese space center

Kathmandu, December 28

Elon Musk, chief executive officer of electric car maker Tesla in China, has been widely criticized.

Muscat has been criticized after China complained that a satellite launched by Musk’s rocket maker, SpaceX, had crashed near its space center and was forced to stop.

China’s complaint to the UN space agency states that the satellites launched by SpaceX on July 1 and October 21 collided near its space center and were forced to stop.

”For security reasons, the Chinese space center (satellite) has taken necessary steps to prevent and control the collision,” the letter from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.

Musk, Starlink and the United States have been widely criticized on the Chinese social network Weibo since the complaint went public, the BBC reported. One social user commented that Starlink’s satellite was ”just a pile of rubbish in space.”

Scientists are concerned about the risk of accidents if satellites and other debris crash into space. They have also called for the exchange of information about 30,000 satellites orbiting the earth, as well as other debris in space.

SpaceX has launched about 1,900 satellites into space as part of its StarLink network.
