Amid mounting tensions, China and Japan have agreed to jointly launch a hotlight service.
The Chinese and Japanese defense ministers agreed to launch a defense hotline service during a video conference on Monday. A press release issued by the Japanese Ministry of Defense tates that the hotline service will be launched by the end of next year.
The Chinese Defense Ministry said in a statement that it had agreed to launch a joint hotline service. However, the ministry did not disclose the date of launch of the hotline service.
Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe and his Japanese counterpart Nobuo Kisi discussed issues including Taiwan, the East and South China Sea in a video conversation on Monday.
