With trade between India and China fluctuating, bilateral trade between Delhi and Beijing has reached more than US 100 billion dollars this year.
Despite such a great achievement, it has not been discussed much in both the countries. It has been analyzed that this may have happened as the relations between India and China are going through a critical situation after the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
According to the Press Trust of India, the trade between the two countries started in 2001 with 1.83 billion. The trade has crossed the 100 billion dollars in the first 11 months of this year. It is being commented that this has given a great opportunity to boost the trade between the two countries.
According to last month's data from China's General Administration of Customs, bilateral trade between India and China is 114. 263 billion dollars. Between January and November 2021, the trade grew by 46.4 percent. Exports from India to China are worth more than 26 billion, an increase of 38.5 percent each year.
India imported 87.9 billion dollars' worth of goods from China, an increase of 49 percent. Despite the increase in bilateral trade, the trade deficit for India is increasing rapidly.
This means that India is buying many times more than it sells in China. The latest figures come at a time when relations between India and China have been extremely sluggish.
