Russia has withdrawn its troops from the Ukrainian border.
The Russian military says troops have returned to their camps after a month-long exercise in various areas along Ukraine’s border.
Russia’s Southern Military District Command announced on Saturday that it was withdrawing troops conducting exercises near the Ukrainian border, RT.com quoted Interfax as saying.
According to the news, more than a thousand Russian troops have started returning to their permanent camps.
Russian forces have been conducting military exercises in various areas, including Crimea and Rostov Oblast, bordering Ukraine, for about a month. Tensions with the West, including NATO, have risen since Russia deployed heavy troops and weapons near the Ukrainian border.
Western nations, including the United States, have accused Russia of deploying troops and
weapons along the border with the intention of attacking Ukraine.
