293 new cases, 263 recoveries, and 2 fatalities in 24 hours of Covid-19 in Nepal.

Kathmandu, December 23

As of Thursday afternoon, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 922,756 people, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the last 24 hours, 293 additional cases have been confirmed in the country, according to the government.

During this time, 9,510 swab samples were analyzed using the RT-PCR method, with 241 of
them returning positive results. Similarly, 2,116 people had antigen tests for the virus, with 52 of them testing positive.

The overall per-day positivity rate remained at 2.52 percent, with 2.53 percent of PCR and 2.45 percent of antigen samples returning positive.

There are 5,161 active cases across the country as of today. There are 251 of them in hospitals, 96 of them in intensive care units, and 22 on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, 263 people have recovered, while two people have died.

So far, 809,922 people have recovered from their illnesses. According to the ministry, 11,581 people died. The recovery rate in the country is 98 percent, and the death rate is 1.4 percent.

In the meanwhile, 282,641 persons were immunized today.
