Four Nepalis have been confirmed dead in a road accident in Greece

It has been confirmed that four Nepalis were killed in a road accident in Greece in the first week of last Mangsir. The four Nepalis who died in a car accident while entering Greece illegally from Turkey have been identified.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Lama of Bhimeshwor Municipality-6, Dolakha,
Ramila Ghale alias Sharmila Tamang of Rasuwa of Amachhoding Municipality-3, Om Bahadur Thapa of Ghiring Municipality-5 Tanahun and Laxman Sapkota of Gauriganga Municipality-4 Kailali. Although Sapkota had already been identified, others were yet to be identified.

The photo sent by the Greek police was posted on the website of the International Police
Organization (Interpol). According to the Nepali Embassy in Vienna, the body was identified by the family of the deceased after they reached the Bureau of Human Trafficking Investigation of Nepal Police through a photo.

Second Secretary of the Embassy Dhananjay Mehta said that the embassy had received
information from the Consular Services Department on Monday that all the four bodies had
been identified and that the process of sending the bodies to Nepal had already started.

The condition of the other two Nepalis injured in the accident is normal. Manu Lama of
Bhimeshwar Municipality-9 Dolakha and Lokraj Acharya of Gauriganga Municipality-4 Kailali
had survived the accident. It was revealed that four other Nepalis were also in the car from
Athens, Greece.

Seven migrants, including four Nepalis, were killed in the accident while entering Greece
illegally from Turkey. Eight people, including two Nepalis, were injured in the accident. It is
suspected that the driver may have lost his balance as the overloaded vehicle was speeding.
