Supreme Court urges legal practitioners not to shout slogans in court premises

Kathmandu, December 21

The Supreme Court administration has urged legal practitioners not to raise slogans in
the court premises. Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court Lal Bahadur Kunwar has
telephoned Chandeshwar Shrestha, president of the Nepal Bar Association, urging him
not to shout slogans at the main gate. Chairman Shrestha informed that they have been
asked by the top administration not to use slogans and microphones.

He said that even if the Supreme Court said so, their movement would continue.
Shrestha said that the nature of the movement could be changed as per the need but
the movement would not stop till another decision is taken from the meeting.

Law practitioners have been agitating for the last two months under the leadership of
Nepal Bar demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana.
